School for Exceptional Child

To mark the International Day for Disabled, celebrated this week and its 1st Anniversary of adoption of the School for the Exceptional Child on 15th July, Seychelles Petroleum Company Limited (SEYPEC) commemorated the two special occasions in the company of a special group of children during a ceremony held at the School on 15th July 2016. The donation ceremony took place in the School Hall in the presence of SEYPEC Staff, Teachers and Students.

For the occasion, the SEYPEC team seized the opportunity to also officially hand over proceeds raised by the company during last month’s National Show 2016 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Charity Project from 26 to 29 June 2016.

On behalf of the school, the Headteacher Mrs Heidi Francourt thanked SEYPEC for once again thinking of them and on behalf of her team expressed their wish that the partnership continues to grow for the betterment of the school. Representing SEYPEC, Ms Nadine Jack also thanked the school for welcoming them and reaffirmed the company’s commitment in providing its continued support to further improve the school’s environment and educational resources hence foster greater learning for the special needs children. “The priceless smiles and happy faces never cease to make us realize how just our mere presence for a few hours at the school makes a major difference for the Staff and the Children” Ms Jack added.

The proceeds handed over during the ceremony were generated through numerous fund raising activities at the SEYPEC Stall during National Show 2016 which included Lucky Dip, Face Painting, Artistic Sketching and a Public Donation Box.

SEYPEC wishes to convey a special thanks to all members of the public who took part in the fund raising activity at the National Show or made a contribution in one way or another to ensure today’s donation is a success.
