Community Generosity Creates Lasting Impact for the School of the Exceptional Child

A fundraising initiative that brought together thousands of visitors to the SEYPEC stall during the Seychelles 50th Jubilee Expo at Roche Caiman has culminated in a significant donation to the School of the Exceptional Child, reinforcing the power of community partnerships and collective generosity.

Throughout the four-day Expo, members of the public supported the SEYPEC fundraising initiative. . Every contribution, whether through a Lucky Dip ticket, face painting or a donation, became part of a shared effort to support a school that has long held a special place in SEYPEC's community outreach programme.

Altogether, the initiative raised SCR 31,279.60. Inspired by the public’s generosity SEYPEC has matched the amount raised, bringing the total donation to the School for the Exceptional Child to SCR 62,559.20.

The cheque was presented by SEYPEC Chief Executive Officer, Captain Adrian Mondon, to the Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Mr David Pierre.

The ceremony was also attended by representatives of SEYPEC, members of the SEYPEC Social Committee, the school's management, teachers, and students. Speaking during the ceremony, SEYPEC’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Adrian Mondon, thanked everyone who supported the initiative.

"This cheque represents far more than a financial contribution. It reflects the generosity of a community that chose to come together in support of children who deserve every opportunity to thrive. We are proud that SEYPEC could stand alongside the people of Seychelles by matching their contribution and continuing our long-standing partnership with this remarkable school."

The School of the Exceptional Child has been one of SEYPEC's valued community partners since 2015. Through this enduring relationship, the company has continued to support initiatives that enhance the learning environment, wellbeing and comfort of the students.

Captain Mondon added that while the Jubilee Expo Village celebrated 50 years of Independence, it also demonstrated the values that continue to define the nation.

"One of the greatest legacies of our Independence celebrations is seeing people come together for a meaningful cause. Every contribution, no matter how small, helped make today's donation possible, and for that we are sincerely grateful."
