SEYPEC Partners with CCA to Support Children Affected by Cancer

The Seychelles Petroleum Company (SEYPEC) has partnered with the Cancer Concern Association (CCA) of Seychelles to support activities for children and young people who have lost a parent or sibling to cancer, with a SCR 25,000 contribution towards the programme.

The contribution was handed over by SEYPEC Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Brenda Gobine, during a ceremony at SEYPEC House on Thursday, 20 August.

The support will contribute to activities and mentoring for the Hope for Kids group during the school holidays. The group brings together children between the ages of 8 and 17 who have experienced the loss of a parent or sibling to cancer.

The programme aims to give these children opportunities to connect with others who have experienced a similar loss, take part in meaningful activities and receive encouragement and mentorship during the August and December school holidays.

Alongside its core mandate of ensuring the country’s energy security, the Company remains committed to giving back and supporting initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing of people and families across the country.

Through our partnership with CCA, we hope to help create moments of connection, encouragement and joy for the Hope for Kids group, while supporting the important work being done to help these children navigate their experiences.”

Established in 1999, the Cancer Concern Association supports cancer patients and their families through awareness and outreach programmes, financial assistance for patients travelling overseas for treatment, the provision of assistive aids, support for children who have lost a parent or sibling to cancer, and assistance to the Ministry of Health’s oncology and hospice services.

The partnership builds on SEYPEC’s previous support for CCA. In October 2025, as part of its 40th anniversary activities and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SEYPEC donated SCR 40,000 to assist patients travelling overseas for cancer treatment, as well as SCR 6,612 worth of essential toiletries for patients at the hospice.
